The VANEM Association was established on August 22, 2015, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as a subdivision of the Vietnam Neurology Association. The association’s leadership, designated by the Vietnam Neurology Association, includes Chairman Associated Professor Nguyen Huu Cong MD, PhD, Vice Chairmen Le Tu Quoc Tuan MD, Vo Don MD, and Secretary Nguyen Le Trung Hieu MD, Specialist class 1.

The VANEM focuses on neurology and neurosurgery in Vietnam, intending to promote education and research in these fields. The association also aims to enhance collaboration among its members, healthcare professionals, and scientific communities and improve public awareness and understanding of neurological diseases and their treatments.
Since its establishment, the VANEM Association has organized numerous scientific conferences, workshops, and training courses to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among its members and other healthcare professionals. These events cover various topics, including stroke, epilepsy, neuroimmunology, neurosurgery, and neurorehabilitation.
The association has also actively participated in international conferences and collaborated with other neurology and neuroscience organizations in the region and worldwide. Through these partnerships, the VANEM Association has expanded its network and exchanged expertise and resources to advance research and clinical practice in neurology and neurosurgery.
In addition, the VANEM Association has been involved in public education and outreach activities, such as organizing community talks, providing informational brochures, and collaborating with patient advocacy groups. These efforts aim to increase public awareness and understanding of neurological diseases, reduce stigma, and encourage early detection and treatment.
